You want to sell more stuff, naturally, so you’ve decided to put together a campaign you can run across Facebook, Instagram and Google.

The blank screen is just staring back at you.

Your customers want results.

Its as simple as that.

In fact, I’d go as far to say that they want immediate results.

They also want to do nothing for it, and pay nothing for it either.

Yikes.Your customers want immediate results. They want to do nothing to achieve it. And they want to pay nothing for it

Obviously it doesn’t always work like that, and for the most part they know that they cannot do no work, whilst paying nothing, to get immediate results.

Which is why they settle for paying for products (or solutions).

Just remember, simply because they pay doesn’t mean they want to. Ask anyone who pays for a gym contract if they’d do it for free?

The marketing software you use in your business, would you prefer to pay the hundreds of dollars every month, or would you prefer to get it for free?

Most people, marketers or entrepreneurs are even happy to simply pay less. According to Blissfully, businesses turn over almost 41.6% of their tech-stack in under 24 months.

Naturally there are a few exceptions, people who understand that in most careful cases that quality is linked to what you pay.

These people are rare, they are the exception.

The proverbial needle in the haystack.

That’s why I’m talking about the non-exceptions, the haystack itself, the “many” (think of talking to more than a hundred people at a time).

Don’t get me wrong, if you want to truly connect with your audience, spend the time studying all the angles, triggers, pain points and ways in which you can reach them. It’s absolutely worth spending the 10,000 hours to really get to know your market, how they operate, and their intimate thoughts.

But, if you want to implement a tried and tested hook, an all-purpose angle that works every time, you have to take the ‘FEC Approach’.

What is the FEC Approach?

It’s simple: FAST, EASY & CHEAP.

How does your product work FASTER than all the other solutions in the market?

How does your software make things EASIER than all the other software solutions in the market?

How is your service, either actually or by perception, CHEAPER than all the other solutions in the market?

It all comes down to being faster, easier or cheaper.

Now I’ve heard it all before:

“But my brand is expensive”

“My course costs thousands”

“We’re elite, we’re not for everyone”.It all comes down to being faster, easier or cheaper

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you sell, everybody wants to find a faster solution to a slower one, an easier solution to a complicated one, and a cheaper solution to an expensive one.

Remember what I mentioned earlier?

Your customers want immediate results. They want to do nothing to achieve it. And they want to pay nothing for it.

This does NOT mean you have to cut costs, drop prices, or worse yet disguise or manipulate your offers.

I’ve sold high-ticket programs, financial products, event tickets, subscriptions, and software that cost thousands. But when compared to the alternatives that are 4x or 5x slower, or even 10x the price, by contrast that’s made my offers sound or feel like the low-cost yet equal opportunity solution.

If you can genuinely find an angle for your product that makes it seem simpler to use, faster to get results with, or cheaper to get their hands on, you’ll see an immediate lift in your responses, conversions, or sales.

No matter what industry you’re in, what you’re selling, or when you’re selling it.

Remember, it all comes down to the FEC Approach.

Its all about how you can change the perception of your solution to being FASTER, EASIER or CHEAPER:

  • How does your solution work faster than other solutions on the market?
  • How does your solution make it easier than other solutions on the market?
  • How does your solution, either actually or by perception, cost less than other solutions on the market?

If you can fit / find one or all three of these, you’ll be on your way to crafting a sales hook very few of your competitors can compete with.
